An Order of Worship:
Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One,
and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your
strength, and your neighbor as yourself.
Opening prayer of St. Francis:
Lord, I would be a better instrument of Your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
May I seek to console more than to be consoled,
To understand than to be understood,
To love more than to be loved;
May I remember that it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born into eternal life.
I acknowledge Your Presence at this moment
And I pray this prayer from my heart--
As I confess my spiritual shortcomings
By what I have done and what I have not done
I have not loved You with my whole heart
And I have not loved my neighbor as myself
I am truly sorry for what should be in my life but is not
And it is my prayer this moment of this day
That I might come to know Your truth more fully
That I might yield myself more fully to the Ministry of love
That I might open myself more fully to Your love
This day and for all eternity to come. Amen

devotional "page" may here be followed)
The Ministry of Confession:
The Blessed Attitudes(Matthew 5)
Blessed are they who recognize their spiritual impoverishment
For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven
Blessed are they who mourn what is not but should be
For they shall be comforted
Blessed are the humble
For they shall inherit the earth
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness
For they shall be satisfied
Blessed are the merciful
For they shall receive mercy
Blessed are they who search with singleness of heart
For they shall see God
Blessed are the peacemakers
For they shall be called the children of God
Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness sake
For theirs is the Kingdom of God
Prayer:
Our blessed Creator and Redeemer, we give You
our deepest thanks and praises for the hunger for
righteousness, peace, truth, beauty, and love You have
placed in our hearts, and the grace You give us to seek the
true Bread of Life and the real Fountain of Living Waters,
as we live out our lives in this Your Creation and into the
Eternity to come. Amen.
And it is my prayer, Blessed Giver of Life, that I may
find love by giving love, peace by giving peace, joy by being
a person of joy, patience by being patient, kindness by being
kind, gentleness by being gentle, faithfulness by being faithful,
and self-discipline by practicing self-discipline.
Our Father in Heaven, I hold Your name of Savior
most holy. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done
on this earth as it is done in Heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
all those who have trespassed against us. Leave us not in our
temptations but deliver us from the Evil One. For the Kingdom,
the Power, and the Glory is Yours, now and forever more. Amen.
Closing sentences:
The Lord Jesus, after He had supped with His disciples
And had washed their feet, said to them, "Do you know what I,
Your Lord and Master, have done to you? I have given you an
example, that you should do as I have done. I have given you
a new commandment: Love one another as I have loved you.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples; that you
love one another. Peace is my last gift to you, my peace I now
leave with you-a peace which the world cannot give, I give
to you. Don't let your hearts be troubled. Do not be afraid.
Let us go out into the world to love and serve our Lord.
